30th Anniversary Celebration

Berkeley Ballet Theater will celebrate its 30th Anniversary at a grand Gala, Nuit des Perles, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 6:00 pm, at the magnificent Berkeley City Club, 2315 Durant Avenue in Berkeley.  The evening starts with an elegant hosted bar cocktail hour paired with live piano accompaniment by BBT's own Rudy Apffel and continues in the gorgeous ballroom with a delicious sit-down dinner, a silent auction, and entertainment which will include performances by accomplished BBT students, a retrospective slide show, and special musical appearance by the Pacific Boychoir.  Radio personality Sedge Thomson of West Coast Live will be the master of ceremonies, and guests will include former New York City ballet star Kyra Nichols. Sally Streets will be our guest of honor. The evening is appropriate for students age 13 and up. Formal dress optional. “Baby Ballerina Wall”

Gala guests will try to match current photos of BBT dancers and alumni with photos when they began dancing – a prize will be awarded!  If you are part of the BBT community it is safe to say that dance has played a big role in your and your family's life. The “Baby Ballerina Wall” will provide a wonderful visual element at the Gala to display this fact.  The Gala guest who matches the most “Baby Ballerinas photos” to their corresponding “current photos” will win a special BBT-themed prize.  Dancers, alumni, and families: here is more information and full instructions on how to submit.
