Melissa Briggs

Melissa started a company in New York, and she currently teaches in New Mexico at National Dance Institute, New Mexico School of the Arts. She is having a baby girl.

2001

Daisy Phillips

Daisy has danced in Switzerland with the Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve, in France with Kirsten Debrock Compagnie KD Danse, and in San Francisco with Alex Ketley, Sonia Reiter, and Les Stuck. In Belgium, Daisy worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and as a member of Les Ballets C de la B, in creation with Alain Platel.

Laura earned her BFA at The Juilliard School, performed in a national tour of Twyla Tharp’s Movin’ Out, and now appears on Broadway in a featured role in Ms. Tharp’s Come Fly With Me.

Chloe Smith

Chloe graduated from Columbia University in 2010, after spending time as an apprentice at Houston Ballet.

Kristina Kirshner

Kristina graduated from UC San Diego, where she majored in Biology and minored in Dance. In San Francisco since 2008, she has performed with Avy K Productions, Courage Group, Robert Moses's Kin, Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton, Meek Dance Projects, Kelly Bowker and Dancers, Natasha Carlitz Ensemble, and Denia Dance. In her day job she is a certified personal trainer.

Kate attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as a Ballet Performance Major. After graduating in 2008, she worked in Chicago with Teach for America and received a Masters in Education in 2010.

Caitlin graduated from Harvard in 2009. SHe is at BBT 2010-11, applying to medical schools, serving as an intern in our Dance for Parkinson’s program, and teaching ballet.

Theo earned her BFA as a Dance major at SUNY Purchase.

Jennifer Cain

Jennifer will be graduating from UC Berkeley in May 2011 with a double major in Chemical Engineering and Economics. She's interested in Life Cycle Assessment of energy technologies, such as carbon capture and sequestration, and is working at Lawrence Berkeley Lab this academic year. She's currently the Company Manager of Ballet Company, the student-run ballet ensemble on campus, is training for the Womens' Nike Marathon in San Francisco, and next Fall plans to move to Houston.

Joanna Poz-Molesky

Joanna received her BFA at the Ailey School/Fordham. In 2008, she founded JUNTOS, an organization committed to uniting performing art and social justice, directing intercultural exchanges in Mexico during the summers of 2009 and 2010.

Annie graduated from SUNY Purchase as a Dance major, and is headed to Israel to accept an apprenticeship in Ohad Naharin’s Ensemble (second company). She also choreographs and has presented work at the Reverb Choreographic Project at Manhattan Movement Arts Center, Greenspace, DanceNOW RawNYC Festival, and showed a premiere at the Ailey City Group Theater in Fall 2010 as part of the Reverb Choreographic Residency.

Julia Steifel

Julia Stiefel graduated from The Juilliard School with a BFA in 2010.  She is currently dancing with Company e.  She has toured to Switzerland and Isreal.


Christina Larson2007

Tessaly Jen

Tessaly is an Earth Systems major with a focus on oceans, and a Dance minor at Stanford. She’s loved her major and has studied abroad multiple times -- in Australia, Palmrya Atoll (in the Pacific Ocean a few degrees above the equator), Mexico, Hawaii, and Monterey, CA. She will be a student adviser for Earth Systems in 2010-11. Dancing in college has mostly been centered around modern dance for her, though she’s taken a few ballet classes. She got to take a pointe class from Muriel Maffre and learned excerpts of Mark Morris' Sandpaper Ballet and Pacific. She has danced in faculty pieces and she dances with Stanford's performance swing group, Swingtime.

Christina is University of Washington '11, Drama major, Art History minor. Christina has been Stage Manager for two Mainstage (graduate) and four Undergraduate Theater Society shows, Production Manager for the Undergraduate Theater Society, Stage Management intern for California Shakespeare Theater in the Summer of '09 and Production Assistant for California Shakespeare Theater's Macbeth in the Summer of '10. She’s taken a couple of ballet classes here and there, and has recently fallen in love with salsa.

Imogene is going to be a Junior dance major at Purchase College 2010-11 and is expecting to graduate with a BFA in dance in 2012.

Emily Hella Tsaconas

Emily Hella Tsaconas graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Gender Studies and French.   She is currently pursuing graduate work at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in the Department of Performance Studies, where her ballet training influences her investigations of corporeal knowledge and embodied practice within the realm of  academic production.    

Sofia Williams

Sofia attends Westmont College in Santa Barbara and will be a senior in the fall with a double major in Art and English. She’s an intern at an online magazine writing about artists and art around Santa Barbara. and an assistant at an art gallery at the Biltmore Four Seasons resort. Sadly, she is no longer dancing because her knees just couldn't take it any longer. She has continued with some Pilates and yoga which is a small replacement for her passion for dance!

2008

Trisha began college at the California Institute of the Arts.

Valerie attends UC San Diego, and has taken an interest in competitive salsa dancing.

Isabel Umali

Isabel is at SUNY Purchase, a Junior in Fall 2010. She is participating with JUNTOS, led by Joanna Poz-Molesky, and learning about teaching, performing, fundraising, and being in a company. She’ll perform at Jacob's Pillow with a small part of Purchase Dance Corps on August 26th. She’s gotten to be in both Nutcrackers and Spring Concert of 2010 when she worked with Nelly Van Bommel.

After a year in the highest level of SF Ballet School, Cecily has accepted an Apprenticeship at Memphis Ballet.

Jake is spending a gap year working on a farm and studying agriculture in France.

Leslie was a paid English tutor at Laney College in 2009-2010 and now attends UCLA, where she entered with Junior status and studies Spanish and Linguistics.
