BOYS' FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM (Ages 7-21)

Encouraging young men to pursue their passion for dance

BBT believes that ballet training cultivates creativity, builds determination, and facilitates teamwork in ways that impact our dancers for years after they leave our studios. To break down outdated stereotypes and encourage gender diversity in classical ballet, BBT’s Boys’ Fellowship program offers young men ages 7-21 the chance to receive financial support, participate in specialized classes, and benefit from mentorship opportunities. BBT’s Boys’ Fellowship students study dance in a rigorous, positive environment that celebrates each student’s unique abilities and encourages every student to reach for their dreams, regardless of social expectations or financial constraints.

BBT’s Boys’ Fellowship students are required to participate in The Nutcracker and New Moves as well as occasional outreach performances and specialty classes throughout the year. These students are also expected to support the BBT faculty by helping to keep the facilities clean, bringing barres out and returning them during class, and maintaining exceptional attendance and positive attitudes throughout the school year.

To support these young men’s passion for dance, BBT provides tuition support in the following tiers:

– Levels 1-3, Tier 1: 25% tuition coverage

– Levels 4-6, Tier 2: 50% tuition coverage

– Levels 7-8, Tier 3: 75% tuition coverage

New families to BBT please contact the BBT Office at info@berkeleyballet.org for more information.
