Capoeira

Starting September 13, 2018!

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art and dance that is played as a game in a circle (roda) to live music. A typical Capoeira class involves training the fundamental movements of the game as well as music. Interspersed within a class, students also learn about the etiquette, language, and philosophy of the game.

Capoeira is a great way to foster the development of self-discipline, self-awareness, self-control, diligence, courage, and community in a fun and playful way. If you are interested in good-natured fun, dancing, a physical challenge, and playing music, come check us out.

Though open to dancers of all ages, if children age 13 and under do attend class they must be accompanied at all times by a participating parent/guardian.

Thursdays 6:45pm-8:45pm

Taught by Broderick Rodell PhD, ND
